These Deck units are used in Steel Deck Bridges. The rattling under moving live load due to any gap between Deck and middle Transom of a bay length, have been avoided by using two types Deck Units instead of one, for a full bay length of 3048 mm for Std, width Bridge. Each Deck Unit is fixed with the socket welded on Transoms by Steel Deck Clamps. Stoppers welded on the Transom locate Deck Unit. Holes are provided for drainage and top face fitted with Chequered Plate to get better wheel grip. Each steel deck units are fabricated from high tensile steel channels and mild steel chequered plates. The number of Deck Units across the bridge varies with the road width and length required.
